Pork Sticks. Simple, quick and delicious recipe
Hello, friends!
Here’s another quick and delicious recipe featuring pork. It can be served as an appetizer or as a main course with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes, or fried potatoes, accompanied by various sauces. And kids really love it. In today’s fast food-oriented world, it can be challenging to feed children something other than fast food, but this recipe… It’s safe to say that it’s an alternative to chicken sticks that many kids prefer from fast food establishments.
This recipe yields 3 servings.
Ingredients
- Pork – 500 g
- Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Egg – 1
- Milk – 150 ml
- Flour – 150 grams
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Sunflower oil – (for frying) – 2-3 tablespoons
Cooking process:
1.Cut the pork (I usually use pork neck) into sticks. The length should be 10-12 cm, and the thickness 1-2 cm. It’s important to ensure that the sticks are evenly thick. Cut the meat across the grain to make it more tender.
2.In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic.
3.Add the pork sticks to the marinade and mix thoroughly to coat each piece. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
4.In another bowl, combine the egg and milk, then add flour and salt. Mix well.
5.Heat a frying pan with sunflower oil over medium heat.
6.Dip each piece of pork into the batter (ensuring it is fully coated) and place it in the pan. Avoid overcrowding the pan with too much meat at once, as it may cause the meat to stew in its juices instead of frying.
7.Fry each side for 3-5 minutes. The cooking time depends on the accuracy of the medium heat on your stove. Usually, it takes no longer than 5 minutes to fry.
8.Place the cooked sticks on a paper towel or a wire rack.
9.Serve the dish warm. To be honest, they don’t have time to cool down anyway.
You can serve them as an appetizer with a sauce or add side dishes such as vegetables, mashed potatoes, or fried potatoes.
That’s the whole recipe!
Cook with pleasure!
