BBQ Chicken wings in the oven

BBQ Chicken wings in the oven

Hello, friends!

Here is one of my many options for BBQ wings. This recipe is easy to make, and the danger is that after your guests try this dish, you will have to regularly cook it for all parties)

For this recipe, I make the sauce myself, but you can also buy ready-made sauce, just try it before adding. Secretly, not all ready-made barbecue sauces appeal to me.

Closer to the point:

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings – 1 kg
  • Barbecue sauce – 150 g
  • Ketchup – 50 g
  • Soy sauce – 30 ml
  • Honey – 30 ml
  • Lemon juice – 15 ml
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Smoked paprika – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 5-7 grams (1 tsp, adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp

I give spices according to restaurant standards, usually in recipes, salt is calculated based on a ratio of 1-1.5% of the weight of the meat. You understand that in restaurants, the expression “salt and pepper to taste” is not acceptable. And to prevent the dish from being bland, salt must be added in accordance with the standards during cooking or before serving.

Let’s move on to the cooking process,

Cooking process

1.First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

2.Finely chop the garlic.

3.Take a deep bowl and mix all the ingredients for the sauce: barbecue sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

4.In another deep bowl, lay out the wings, add half of the sauce, and mix again.

5.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay out the wings.

6.Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook for 25-30 minutes.

7.Then remove the baking sheet, turn the wings over and spread the remaining sauce on top.

8.Return the baking sheet to the oven.

9.Cook for another 10-15 minutes.

10.And that’s it!

Remove, let stand for a while, and enjoy the appetizing wings with a crispy crust and soft inside.

Since I have already given this recipe to a large number of cooks and friends, let’s move on to the questions))) And they sometimes arise:

Won’t the wings be too sweet because of the honey?

No, this amount of honey will not make the wings sweet. Sweetness is compensated by barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and ketchup. In addition, honey helps to make the sauce thicker and the crust more crispy.

Usually, you first add salt, and then the other ingredients of the marinade, but here you don’t.

Yes, that’s correct. However, in this recipe, I use soy sauce, which already contains salt, so I add salt to the marinade separately, which can always be tasted for saltiness.

And now, for question number one on my list:

My wings stick even to parchment paper, and it’s difficult to turn them without damaging them. Is this because of the honey?

No, it’s more likely that you didn’t dry the wings well enough before adding the marinade. Excess moisture will turn your wings into a sticky mass without any appetizing crust, which can even stick to the paper. Try drying the wings thoroughly with paper towels next time and, just in case, grease the paper with vegetable oil.

That’s it!

Cook with pleasure!
