What are the main points in making mashed potatoes? These are: the right combination of potatoes, butter and milk; milk should be warm; and work fast
First variant. Mashed potatoes with milk.
Ingredients
- Potato – 1 kg
- Milk – 200 ml
- Butter – 75 gr
- Salt and pepper – to taste.
Cooking process:
We clean the potatoes, wash them and cut them into cubes of 1 cm. Boil water in a saucepan, add a little salt and put the potatoes there, wait until it boils again and cook for 15-20 minutes. Depending on how stubborn the potato you got. We check the readiness of the potatoes with a knife or a toothpick.
While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan, add the milk and bring to a boil.
Once the potatoes are ready, drain the water. Further we work very quickly. Using a blender, sieve or potato masher, grind the puree, gradually add the mixture of butter and milk, mixing thoroughly.
The result is a smooth and delicious mashed potato.
Second variant
For the mushroom mashed potato variant, the ingredients for the mashed potatoes remain the same. And in the sauce is added:
- Champignons – 30-50 grams
- Truffle oil – 30 ml
Finely chop the mushrooms (you can grind). Put sliced mushrooms in a pan, add truffle oil, fry a little, add butter (75 g) and milk (200 ml), bring to a low boil. And the resulting sauce is gradually poured into the chopped potatoes. Also mix everything thoroughly.
Third variant
For the variant of mashed potatoes with garlic and herbs, add the following ingredients to the sauce:
- Garlic – 2-3 cloves
- Parsley, dill – 75 grams
Peel the garlic and finely chop. We also finely chop the parsley and dill leaves. Put oil (75 g), chopped garlic in a saucepan, add milk and boil for a couple of minutes, then add chopped dill and parsley leaves, cook for another 3-5 minutes on low heat. The resulting sauce is added to the mashed potatoes. Do not forget to mix everything thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
